Alaskan Malamute Weight

The Alaskan Malamute is a large dog ... 9/10 09

The Alaskan Malamute is a large, correction, super sized dog. This is an important consideration is you are considering this breed. You will need to make sure that you have plenty of space for a dog that will eventually weigh between 70-90 pounds full grown. Probably not the best fit for you if you live in an apartment. Also, the Alaskan Malamute needs a lot of action and exercise to stay clear of trouble. It is best if you have a safe fenced in yard so he can play. With this he will still need several brisk walks daily, or better yet a run or jog.

The Alaskan Malamute has a long, thick coat of fur. You will want to exercise him in the morning or late at night in the hot weather.

Even though this breed requires daily exercise it is important that they get at least 30-45 minutes a day of a quick paced walk. These dogs can become over weight quickly if they miss their daily walks. Keep this in mind if your the type of dog owner who likes to reward your dog with a few delicious dog treats!
