If your 're considering a Alaskan Malamute you will be happy with a large dog that loves his family. These dogs needs to be kept very active to avoid destructive behavior. Several runs, jogs or brisk walks a day will make him very happy. This breed can tolerate the cold and can stay outside in cooler weather. His coat of fur is very thick, and he can become overheated quickly in warm weather. It is best to keep him inside as the temperature rises outside.
Alaskan Malamutes require daily exercise, long walks, a nice run or jog will do. They also require brushing of their long dense fur. In order to control pet hair removal a gentle brushing 3-4 times a week will do.
